Earning your trust is our main objective, as complying with with privacy is embedded in our community’s culture. 


Information We Collect & How We Use It

The information we track with this website is to make the website work as well as possible, and also to be able to deliver better services. We don’t collect data in order to advertise to you.


To provide a superior experience using our website, we collect information from your interactions with it. Some of this information, you actively tell us - such as your email address, which you share when you subscribe on your website, or on other websites where we offer our services, such as Mailchimp, Medium, Vimeo, Meetup, Twitter, and which have their own Privacy Policies. We then use this information exclusively to track your account in order to communicate with you. 


Other information, which we might collect based on actions you take while using our website - such as what pages you access and your interactions with ourwebsite, what device or browser type is being used - is collected in an anonymised way. 


We use this information to:

· Potentially pay authors for certain content published on the website

Data Storage

Our website uses third-party vendors for hosting, such as GoDaddy and other related technology we need to run the website. By using our website and services, any server logs and event logs are stored in accordance with the third-party vendors’ privacy policies. This means that the some or parts of the website can be hosted in the United States, in accordance with GoDaddy’s Privacy Policy. By using our website, you authorize GoDaddy to transfer, store, and use your information in the United States and any other country GoDaddy operates. 


Third-Party Embeds

Some of the content that you see displayed on our website is not hosted by us. These “embeds” are hosted by a third-party and embedded in our website. For example: SoundCloud audio files, Twitter tweets, Medium posts, Vimeo videos. These files send data to the hosted site - for example, when you load a post page on our website with a Soundcloud audio file embedded in it, Soundcloud receives data about thatactivity. We do not control what data third parties collect in cases like this, or what they will do with it. So, third-party embeds on our website are not covered by this privacy policy. They are covered by the privacy policy of the third-party service.


Some embeds may ask you for personal information, such as your email address, through a form. This is usually an embed hosted by our website, which we use to collect your email address so that we can contact you about updates on our website or with updates about services we produce (content branded under the “a p e r t u r e” umbrella). In order to do so, we might include your email address in our newsletter audience list managed on Mailchimp, or invite you to future events that might be relevant to you, through our account created on Meetup. 


We do our best to keep bad actors off the network of accounts build around our website. When visiting a third-party website where you have been re-directed from our website, please be careful when you see embedded forms there asking for your email address or any other personal information. Make sure you understand who you are submitting your information to and what they say they plan to do with it. 


Tracking & Cookies

We use browser cookies and similar technologies to personalize content and other information. Our website doesn’t track you across the Internet. We track only your interactions within the website. Some third-party services that we might use to provide our website and services, such as Google Analytics, may place their own cookies in your browser. This Privacy Policy covers use of cookies by our website only and not the use of cookies by third parties.


Modifying or Deleting Your Personal Information

If you have submitted your personal details – such as your email address – via the website, or content authored by you such as articles, audio or video files - you can request an export your personal information, modify it or ask to be deleted by emailing us at newsletter@aperturehub.co.

To protect information from accidental or malicious destruction, we may maintain residual copies for a brief time period. But, if you request your personal information and/orcontent to be deleted, we will do so and will be unrecoverable after that time. We will only preserve and maintain copies of your information when required to do so by law.

We use encryption HTTPS Go Daddy Secure Certificate Authority -G2  to protect data transmitted to and from our website. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee security. You use the website at your own risk, and you’re responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account.


Emails from the “a p e r t u r e” community 

While you might have opted out from receiving a specific service that we offer through a third-party platform (such as our opting out on Mailchimp from receiving our newsletter), sometimes we’ll send you emails about service changes, new policies or new services we create (such as events). In case that happens and you do no wish to be contacted at all, email us at newsletter@aperturehub.cowith a request to delete your personal information from all the databases where it is stored, being hosted by us or by third-party vendors.

When you interact with an email sent by us (aperturehub.co domain) - such as opening an email or clicking on a particular link in an email-, we may receive information about that interaction. We won’t email you to ask for your password or other account information. If you receive such an email, please send it to us so we can investigate.


Changes to this Policy

We may periodically update this Policy. We’ll notify you about significant changes to it. The most current version of the policy will always be here and we will archive former versions of the policies in the archive section of the website.
